Hi guys!
I’m back with another blog.. and this time it’s about my recent visit to Rishikesh.
Rishikesh is a 6-hr road journey from Delhi. This place is known for its spirituality, meditation and yoga amongst the young and the old. But there’s more to this place, like, river rafting, Lakshman Jhula, Trayambakeshwar temple, the cafes and of course, camping!!
So I decided to go for a 1 day trip to Rishikesh since I’d never been there and wanted to explore the place and trust me, those who haven’t been there yet, need to go! One has to be there to believe it.
Once you reach Rishikesh you’ll find lots and lots of tourists, families, friends enjoying this blissful place in the hills. And for Rishikesh you really don’t have to “plan” a trip. For people like me, who live nearby, just need to grab their essentials and are good to go. You get tons and tons of hotels to book and camping places there.
So for my small trip I did not have much time to explore the whole of it so I decided to just wander the local markets, the city around, Lakshman Jhula (Obviously!), and the Ganga Beach Cafe.

In the afternoon, I decided to go the Lakshman Jhula, and also visited the Trayambakeshwar Temple. And while I was at it, I couldn’t take my eyes off this beautiful place. When I read about this temple I found out that this temple was built as an abode of Lord Shiva and is known to be 400 years old. This 13-storeyed temple (also known as Tera Manzil Temple) depicts several idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses in each storey.

The place around this temple was equally mesmerising. The sun falling over the Ganga river beneath the Jhula, the hills covering most of the place. The chilly winds touching your cheeks as you move ahead. It was a breath of fresh of air for me. Remember how I was talking about the “refresh button” in my very first blog? Well, visiting this place was one of it.
In the evening, I had decided to go and have dinner in the famous Ganga Beach Cafe. When I reached there, I got to know why this place was so famous. This cafe is located just below the Lakshman Jhula at the edge of river. The sound of the Ganga river flowing beneath the Lakshman Jhula at night is the best thing! I still can’t get over it.

This was all about my 1 day trip to Rishikesh. I’ll think of going for river rafting and camping when I can plan a longer trip with my friends. Let me know your thoughts about your trip to Rishikesh, if you’ve been there. I’d love to hear more about such places from you guys. Seen you super soon in my next blog.
